Does DI55 (Defence Intelligence MoD) investigate any reports of UFO activity in the British skies?

Official answer: 'No', according to the MoD........until now.

I have just received a reply to a letter I sent to Secretariat (Air Staff)2a, on the 12th April 1999, asking them about a sighting that I have been investigating. In the letter (among other things), I asked about the role of DI55 in relation to UFO sightings in Great Britain. I also asked them not to send me the bog standard letter regarding their (MoD) situation on UFO's.

As you can see, DI55 DO have an interest in '..reported aerial sightings'.

Another interesting thing is that when a colleague of mine wrote to DI55 asking them if they had any interest in UFO's, the reply came from.......yes, you guessed it.......Secretariat (AS)2a!
